When should you practice Non-Assumpsit when signing

When my daughter was called for jury duty a couple of years ago, she was 22 or 23, while filing out the pre summons form, she did not sign non-assumpsit, as we were ignorant on that fact, but she did answer no to are you a U.S. citizen. They never called her for service.
